Welcome to CookHelp! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CookHelp mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Account Terms
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use CookHelp. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent and supervision when using the Service. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for monitoring your child's use of the Service.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication when available.
Family Group Management
If you create or join a family group, you are responsible for:
- Managing family member invitations and permissions
- Ensuring all family members comply with these Terms
- Removing family members who violate these Terms
- Coordinating billing and subscription management if you are the group owner
2. Service Description
AI-Powered Meal Planning Features
CookHelp provides AI-powered recipe generation, meal planning, shopping list creation, and cooking guidance. Our AI analyzes your preferences and dietary restrictions to suggest recipes and create personalized meal plans.
Subscription Terms
CookHelp offers both free and premium subscription tiers:
- Free Tier: Limited features available at no cost
- Premium Tier: Full access to all features through a paid subscription
Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, as selected by you. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as specified in our refund policy.
Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available 100% of the time. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance or updates
- Technical issues or system failures
- Circumstances beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, internet outages)
Feature Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that may affect your use of the Service.
3. User Content
Recipe Ownership and Rights
You retain ownership of any recipes, meal plans, and content you create or upload to CookHelp ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store, process, and display your User Content to provide the Service
- Use your User Content to improve our AI algorithms and service quality
- Create anonymized and aggregated insights that do not identify you
Content Guidelines
You agree not to upload, create, or share content that:
- Violates any laws or regulations
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
- Is misleading, fraudulent, or harmful
- Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code
AI-Generated Content Terms
Recipes and meal plans generated by our AI are provided "as is" for your personal use. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or may not be suitable for all dietary needs. You are responsible for:
- Reviewing AI-generated recipes for accuracy and appropriateness
- Verifying ingredient lists and cooking instructions
- Ensuring recipes meet your dietary restrictions and safety requirements
- Not relying solely on AI-generated content for critical dietary or health decisions
Sharing and Privacy Settings
You control who can access your recipes and meal plans through privacy settings. You can share content with family members, create public recipe links, or keep content private. Be mindful of privacy settings when sharing content.
4. Payments and Billing
Subscription Fees
Premium subscription fees are displayed in the app and on our website. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. We will notify you of any price changes at least 30 days in advance.
Billing Cycles
Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the renewal fee.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from the app settings or through your app store account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to Premium features until the period ends.
Refund Conditions
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may provide refunds in the following circumstances:
- As required by applicable law (e.g., consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction)
- If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the Service for an extended period
- Within 14 days of initial subscription purchase (where required by law)

5. Limitations of Liability
Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We are not liable for any losses or damages resulting from service interruptions, technical failures, or temporary unavailability of features.
AI-Generated Content Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated recipes and meal plans are provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:
- Errors in ingredient lists or quantities
- Incorrect cooking instructions or timing
- Nutritional information inaccuracies
- Recipes that don't meet your expectations
User Responsibility for Dietary Needs
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring recipes are safe for your dietary restrictions and allergies
- Verifying ingredient safety and cross-contamination risks
- Consulting healthcare professionals for medical dietary needs
- Following proper food safety practices when cooking
CookHelp is not a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for serious dietary or health concerns.
Limitation of Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookHelp and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or other damages arising from your use of the Service.
6. Termination
User Termination Rights
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the app settings. Upon termination:
- Your access to the Service will immediately cease
- Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Any active subscriptions will be cancelled
- You will not receive a refund for unused subscription time (unless required by law)
Company Termination Rights
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- You misuse the Service or attempt to harm our systems
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limitations, dispute resolution, and ownership provisions) will survive.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by CookHelp and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use our trademarks or logos without permission
- Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
8. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting updated Terms in the app
- Sending an email to your registered address
- Displaying a notice when you next open the app
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
